Kimberly's path - so far
Linear lives and careers are overrated, in my opinion.
My deliciously non-linear journey has been one of exploration, adventure and following my instincts. The technical details are in LinkedIn. e.g., leadership, entrepreneurship, strategy, team-building at places like McKinsey, Ashoka, Capitol Hill, UVA, Harvard.
Here's the more interesting color commentary:
- I love New Jersey. Growing up in an ecologically unique region, the Pine Barrens, gave me a deep connection to nature.
- I've lived and worked around the world: Mumbai, Mexico City (twice), Bogotá, Brussels, and Madrid. Everyone should live outside their home country for a bit.
- I was fired once. It was a humbling and deeply formative experience. Invaluable lessons come through hardship if you pay attention.
- My secret weapon? Meditation. It creates a tiny pause between reaction and action that allows for better decisions.
- My teens are my teachers. Through their curiosity, clarity and courage, my two daughters have taught me far more than I, them. I am forever grateful to be their mom.
- The word love belongs in every organization. To love is to be human. And an organization is simply a group of humans.
